The Flames acquired forward Kevin Westgarth from the Hurricanes on Monday for minor league forward Greg Nemisz, according to an ESPN.com report.

Westgarth, in his fifth NHL season, has no points this season in 12 games with the Hurricanes. Overall, he has played in 133 NHL games with Los Angeles and Carolina, posting three goals and six assists.

The Sabres acquired left wing Linus Omark from the Oilers on Thursday for a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2014 NHL draft, according to an ESPN.com report.

Omark, a fourth-round selection by Edmonton in the 2007 draft, has eight goals and 22 assists in 66 NHL games.

Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has acquired forward Kyle Beach from the Blackhawks in exchange for forward Brandon Mashinter.

Beach, 23, was originally selected by Chicago as a first round choice, 11^th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He has registered four goals and a plus-three rating in seven games with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL this season. 

Mashinter, 25, has registered one goal and six assists in 11 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) this season. He has also skated in six games with the Rangers. Mashinter was acquired by the Rangers from San Jose in exchange for Tommy Grant and a conditional draft pick on January 16, 2013.
